Floral Designs to Celebrate Your Grandparents

The history of our grandparents is remembered in the laughter and tears of their children and their children’s children. It is into us that the lives of grandparents have gone. It is in us that their history becomes a future. ~Charles and Ann Morse Established in 1978, the main purpose of Grandparents Day is to bring the family together, share stories and history, and let the generations learn from each other. The holiday is the brainchild of Marian McQuade, a grandmother from West Virginia who was concerned that the traditions and legacies of our individual families was being lost in the modern world. Grandparents Day is also a wonderful opportunity to honor the people who love us. So whether you call them Gigi and Pop Pop, or Nana and Opa - September 10 is the day to tell them just how amazing they are.You may want to ask them to tell you a few stories as well.  Read More about Floral Designs to Celebrate Your Grandparents »

Flowers Delivered for Just Because Day

In the 1960's, a man in California told his wife that the radio he had purchased for her was "just because". Little did he know that we would be writing about those simple words 50 years later. His act inspired his family to begin to set aside one day each year that they would do whatever they chose to do - no reason needed. Their fun was soon recognized by friends and neighbors, and the custom grew. Incredibly, in 2005 the holiday was added to the national registry which tracks whimsical observances, and a new tradition was born. On Just Because Day, it is perfectly acceptable to do something unexpected, to be spontaneous, and to stop worrying about the routines of life for a few hours. How will you celebrate this day? The possibilities are endless, but here are a few ideas from your friends at Stadium Flowers.  Read More about Flowers Delivered for Just Because Day »
